## Chronology note

VARĀHĪ follows the earlier chronology that places Ācārya Varāhamihira in the first century BCE, within the intellectual world associated with Mahārāja Vikramāditya and Ujjayinī. Modern academic histories often place him in the sixth century CE based on a different interpretation of chronological and textual evidence. The project states its adopted chronology openly and preserves the debate in the scholarly notes.
